Mika Tan
Mika Tan (born Saraswati Miyoko Taetafa November 27, 1977) is an American-born porn star and fetish/pantyhose model.
Born on the Hawaiian island of Oahu to an Okinawan/Taiwanese mother and a Japanese/Samoan father, Mika mother's side was full of aunts and cousins who were models and musicians. She was raised primarily by her grandmother who was an established Hawaiian/Japanese folk dancer, singer, and proprietor of a few "happy ending" asian massage parlors. Her father's side is full of military servicemen and women, including her sister who is in the US Marines, who helps with her website. A "Navy brat", as a youngster Mika traveled across the United States and parts of Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa before she went to high school. Some earlier biographies list Filipino or Kumeyaay (Native American Indian) descent. Mika Tan went to college and achieved a BS degree in Biochemistry. Despite this she did not enjoy the work as she was more of a "people person". She worked in marketing in the timeshare industry for Dennis Hof. Some adult distribution companies market Loni and Mika as cousins, but it is incorrect.
Mika tried stripping and art class figure modelling to make extra money when she was working as a research assistant after graduating college. The nude modeling lead to an interview, then to an agent, and finally to her debut in adult cinema.
Initially Mika Tan tried to work with her husband in her movies, but when offers to work with other actors came in they both decided it would be good for her career if she did so. Unfortunately, it put a strain on their relationship and they eventually split up. Mika also suffered a miscarriage in this period, which she describes as the worst time of her life. She left the porn industry for a long while before returning and returned with new breasts in 2000 or 2001 and facial reconstructive surgery due to a near-death accident in 2002. Ms. Tan came back almost a new person.
She does primarily fetish-oriented work, including work as a dominatrix for the "Men in Pain" and "Mean Bitches" websites, where her aggressive performances have made her a favourite. Mika Tan classifies herself far more as a fetish model than a porn star - indeed, she declares that the porn star label shouldn't be applied to "any girl who has done less than 250 films". She also takes orders for custom videos through her website.
